Joseph "JP" Parsons, Vice President, Salon Relations,
By the age of 21, JP was a partner in one of
Philadelphia’s top hair salons and was the youngest member in
history to be voted a seat on the Board of Directors of the New
Jersey Hairdressers’ and Cosmetology Association.
A seat on the esteemed
Delaware Valley Hair Association gave him the opportunity to become
a platform artist,
educating hundreds of hairdressers simultaneously and acting as a
participating judge in
hair competitions in the Tri-State Area.
By the age of twenty-four, JP had parlayed his success into
ownership of two top salons in the Philadelphia area (Beauty by
Angelo, which became Hair People), expanding one of them to include
an innovative wing for men’s styling, color and perms.
His creativity and innovative thinking led to a seat on the
Board of Directors of the highly prestigious
Philadelphia Hair Fashion Guild,
of which he became Vice-President the following year.
In the late 80’s JP was asked to represent the salon industry in
Nu Skin International,
where he quickly won recognition as the first writer and producer of
his own video, which empowered stylists to create passive income.
JP later became a popular
motivational speaker
and trainer for Nu Skin.
Afforded the time, freedom and wealth by network marketing success,
JP immersed himself in such efforts as building
The Palm Beach Center For
Living and Boca
Cares, and establishing
The Comprehensive Kids’
Program of Palm Beach, serving on The Board of Directors of
all three. His unique
combination of talents landed him the position of spokesperson
for
Omega Institute of New York,
recognized worldwide in the field of spirituality, health and
motivation. JP became
the liaison between New York and South Florida, representing such
notable personalities as Dr. Deepak
Chopra, Maya Angelou, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Marianne
Williamson and many others.
Among his accomplishments was an international fashion show
held at Mara Lago, the
Trump Estate in Palm
Beach, Florida, and the showing of
Gianni Versace’s home for the benefit of The
Special Olympics, hosted by
Eunice and Anthony Shriver-Kennedy.
The following year, JP represented
Jacqueline Ripstein, internationally known
artist, as both her manager and publicist.
Jacqueline and JP traveled throughout the world raising money
to build a renewal center for the war torn children of Bosnia.
JP’s reputation as an advisor, publicist and public relations expert
brought him to the attention of several Broadway producers, such as
Robert Dragotta and
Marty Markinson in New
York, Larry Topel in
Florida, and Ellen Krass,
Suzie Dietz and
Richard Willis in California.
These notable personalities turned to JP for marketing such
celebrities as Lorna Luft,
Florence Henderson, Carol Lawrence,
Michelle Lee, Shields and Yarnell, Robert Morse, Mickey Rooney,
Kitty Carlisle and others, marketing theatre
throughout the salon industry.
JP’s company, People, Promotions and Public Relations,
evolved naturally from his varied talents, interests and
associations. For the last several years, JP has worked with
Charles Cinnamon of
Cinnamon Productions. He
has been developing relationships with some of the world’s top
celebrities and dignitaries from the film industry for AirPlay
America and The Salon Channel, and was an integral part of the
prestigious Miami International Film
Festival, celebrating it’s 25th year, 2008.
